Styles of Dance
Ballroom
Ballroom dancing is a partnership dance where couples, move rhythmically, expressing the music in their moves.
In competition, the five dances in this style are: Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Vienesse Waltz and Quick Step.
Latin American
Latin American dancing is often referred to as exciting, featuring hip actions, and long arm and leg movements. In competition, the five dances in this style are: Samba, Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, Paso Doble, and Jive.
New Vogue
New Vogue dancing is often referred to as sequence dancing, where each couple dance the same steps however their style and flare are unique to the couple.
In competition, the dances in this style are often: Swing Waltz, Charmain, Gypsy Tap, Excelsior Schottische, La Bomba, and Twighlight Waltz.
